Just kidding (:
My question is, why are parents so over protective?
Okay I understand that parents need to take care of their kids and what not, but here is why I ask. I have a friend, a guy friend if you must know, and he snuck out of the house at 1 in the morning to have some alone time.
He had been threatened by a guy from school, that he was going to be killed, and honestly I believe that the threatener WOULD indeed do something.
My friend decided to leave, and take his parents car, given that he has no licence, but he needed time alone, WITHOUT anybody questioning him or making him feel worse.
His mother called him and cussed at him, and now he is phoneless, tvless, keyless, computerless. He can't do anything except eat, sleep, shower and go to school.
My parents were quite overprotective too, I couldn't wear anything besides long dresses and jeans among many other things that I won't disclose. But my philosophy always was: a child will do his or her ow will, with or without a parents permission. Of course that's not necessarily true, a kid won't go and do EVERYTHING he or she wants, but if its something a child truly wants, and might deserve to give a try at, for the better or worse, he or she is going to do it.
Wisdom only comes from mistakes.
Why are parents so strict? Well, better said, why are some parents too strict?
I should just ask this guy's mom. Maybe she'll be able to explain herself.
Or I can ask my parents... (:
